Trainee Supply Chain Administrator

A bit about us

Film-Ocean is a specialist subsea ROV services company, part of the international STAPEM Group, with a reputation built on technical excellence and a team that genuinely looks out for one another. Based at our headquarters in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, we're looking for a Trainee Supply Chain Administrator to join us and grow into the role.

This is a great opportunity for someone at the start of their career, or looking for a career change to gain hands-on experience across procurement, purchasing, logistics, and supplier management, working closely with our Supply Chain Team Lead and learning the ropes of how a busy operational business runs.

What you'll be doing

You'll provide essential day-to-day support across the Supply Chain function, including:

  • Supporting the team with raising, tracking, and managing purchase orders
  • Helping obtain supplier quotations and collating comparisons for review
  • Maintaining supplier records, certifications, and contact details
  • Communicating with suppliers to confirm orders, track shipments, and resolve queries
  • Supporting stock records, inventory data, and goods receipts
  • Assisting with logistics coordination, including shipping arrangements and documentation
  • Providing general administrative support, including minute-taking, filing, and correspondence

Health, safety and environment

At Film-Ocean, HSEQ isn't a box-ticking exercise — it's part of how we work. In this role, you'll be expected to take reasonable care for your own safety and that of those around you, follow our HSEQ processes, use provided equipment correctly, and report any concerns to our HSEQ Manager. We ask everyone to play an active part in maintaining a safe, responsible working environment.

What we're looking for

  • Some experience in an administration role
  • Knowledge of the Energy industry is a bonus, but not essential
  • Confident using Microsoft Office
  • A positive, can-do attitude with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
  • Great communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships

What we offer

  • Flexible and hybrid working — we support a healthy work-life balance
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life assurance for permanent staff
  • Workplace pension scheme
  • Free EV charging at our Ellon HQ
  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience
  • The opportunity to work and train as part of a supportive team on interesting and varied projects
