Ocean House in Ellon, Aberdeenshire remains our global headquarters and the centre of our operations, and we continue to invest and grow our team there. The Newcastle office adds to that foundation, extending our reach into a region of growing importance to the subsea and offshore energy industry. It gives us additional depth and capacity as demand for our services continues to grow worldwide.
The new office will serve as an operational and project delivery base, strengthening project oversight, broadening our technical support offering and building closer relationships with clients and partners across the region. This ultimately gives our clients greater assurance of delivery as we take on more work, supported by the expertise and capability we've already firmly established in Aberdeenshire.
Environmental responsibility also informed our choice of location. We build sustainability into everything we do. Our Ellon headquarters was designed with energy efficiency at its core, and we sought a North East England base that reflected the same values. Cobalt Business Exchange, set within a 39-acre biodiversity park with wildflower meadows, extensive wildlife habitats and supported by dedicated carbon-reduction and sustainable travel initiatives, met that bar.

Our Commercial Manager, Sophie Bryce commented:
"Newcastle gives us an additional base to serve our clients — faster response times, closer day-to-day collaboration, and more capacity to take on new projects. Aberdeenshire remains at the heart of everything we do, and this is about strengthening Film-Ocean as a whole.
Sustainability was also front of mind when choosing where to base our new office. Cobalt's environmental credentials mean our growth in North East England is happening in a way that's consistent with how we operate at Ocean House, and with the values our clients increasingly expect from their supply chain partners."
Ongoing recruitment
We've grown rapidly since the start of 2026, adding several new staff positions across the business, with further expansion planned for both our Aberdeen and Newcastle teams. Current opportunities include roles within our Operations and Supply Chain teams based at each office — details are available on our careers page.
Our expansion into Newcastle underlines our confidence in the future of the sector and our determination to invest in the people and infrastructure needed to support clients across the UK and internationally.
