Film-Ocean invests in a Cougar-XT ROV, adding to the company’s expanding ROV rental fleet. The Seaeye Cougar-XT ROV system comes complete with a Hydramech A-Frame Launch and Recovery System (LARS) and Seaeye Tether Management System (TMS) making it ideal for vessel or platform inspections. With the added benefit of a standard three-phase subsea power distribution this allows for easy integration of a subsea water jetting skid and other enhanced tooling packages.
The Cougar-XT and its accompanying garage TMS are deployed from a Launch and Recovery System (LARS) consisting of an integral Winch, A-Frame and Hydraulic Power Pack. This gravity base Launch and Recovery System (LARS) is designed to be rapidly mobilised and is even able to work from a fixed platform without the need for a welded attachment to a deck to a working depth of 300msw.
Film-Ocean has taken delivery of a Cougar-XT Inspection Class ROV system. The Cougar is a zone 2 rated system with a telescopic A-Frame LARS, since its acquisition, the system has had a new zone 2 control cabin added. Scott Jenney, Director said ‘Following on from large investments in the ROV fleet in 2017 we are very pleased to continue this with the addition of a Cougar-XT fleet. The system will expand our service offering and provide additional resources to service the requirements of our clients. The Cougar is an ideal solution for both platform-based and vessel-based projects.’
